Known
in the African-American community as the veil, in ancient times, the tissue or membrane covering the face and head of some
infants at birth was called, the birth caul. There is no medical explanation why some few babies are born with this anamoly,

Story Synopsis
When Alexis relocates from Chicago to Boston,
everything goes horribly wrong from the beginning. On the drive across country, she experiences an unusual number of frightening
disasters, but once reaching Boston safely, dismisses them as just coincidence ... that is, until she begins to experience
the visions.
During these terrifying episodes, Alexis is whisked back in
time to witness startling moments in the lives of people ... who happen to be dead; Satan worshipers with unfathomable designs
on her life; and, people who, unknown to those around them, are possesssed by demons. Alexis fears she is going
mad.
Then, she learns that she was born with a covering of tissue over her face, and that tissue, called both
the 'veil' and 'birth caul', carries a legend of mystical powers. At first, she thinks it
is both ridiculous, and a myth; until everything begins to point to a relationship between her frightening experiences
and that mark of her birth.
Ultimately, it is a powerful Caribbean hurricane that will serve as the catalyst for
